My first year...

So as this day comes to an end, I want to reflect on my past year of posting videos and such...

A year ago today I posted my first video... Boomin Banana Plays: Dead Space 2 - Part 1. It was sloppy, the video quality was not so great, and my editing skills were subpar, but I was enjoying myself for the first time in months. I started this whole youtube thing because I had lost my job and my job search was not going so well, so I used the video making as a means of escape and a hobby of sorts... I have posted 42 more videos since then, and I still love doing it to this day. I still put as much effort in to it when I had 0 subscribers as I do now with my whopping 45. I love that 45 people wanted to subscribe to me, and if I never gained another one I would still continue putting the same quality content out that I have since day one... Whether that quality is all that good is another question, but I digress! The point is that the people I play games with, played games with, and will play games with in the future will help me along this whole video making thing along with my faithful few who watch my videos and give feedback when they can. And to all of you people, I thank you. I hope I can gain some more subscribers, and maybe some popularity, in this next year and I look forward to every single minute I get to spend in an attempt to entertain myself and more importantly all the people who have ever watched my videos and even so much as chuckled at my stupidity.

Jay Oh Bee

So my loyal followers I have some good news! I finally have a job! What does this mean for my youtube channel and this blog? It means I am going to have more money to spend on video games, keeping my PC up to date, and getting some hard drives to be able to store more footage on! Also it means I will be spending less time gaming than I have in recent memory, but that just means that I will have to prioritize recording and editing whenever I get the chance. I will be uploading and having blog posts just as much as I did in the past, but it could take me a bit to get used to working again, seeing as it has been over a year since I've had a job! CRAZY!

Anyway, just figured I would update you all on that bidness and let you know that I will keep this up! Thanks for all the support and for reading these posts!

Overheating CPU's and the rage they cause me.

Wellllllllllllllllllll it's been a bit since I put up an update post, so here we are!


Not all that much to update you all on as it pertains to exciting news, but I figured I would just let you all know what my plans are for the next few videos so all the 15 people that usually watch them can be well informed on the happenings to come! HA! Anyway, I am still struggling with the second Grey video and it is realllllly discouraging me. If I wasn't so OCD, I would just say screw it and not make the video as the FRAPS video files are taking up a lot of room on my hard drive and I am sick of my computer overheating and shutting down while trying to process the edited down clips in to a video. I have compressed the videos down in to a much smaller file size now, so I am hoping things will go smoother and I will have the video out by tomorrow. But with how things have gone, I'm not gonna rule out my computer shitting out on me regardless of the extra effort I took with making the files smaller.

As for videos after Grey, I can only see myself putting out a Battlefield 3 Awesome Game because I have one that I've been sitting on for awhile and one that I am currently working on. So the 2 people that enjoy my Battlefield 3 videos can bubble with excitement with that bit of news!

After that? Who the hell knows... I still have plenty of games I haven't made videos on, including Deadly Premonition which is just so bad in such a great way. That leaves me to say what I usually say about future projects in these updates and just end it with a who knows! I seem to get inspiration for videos out of nowhere so I am sure I will think of something when the time comes, but until then I will continue pissing myself off editing Grey clips and then enjoy some Battlefield 3 editing until I figure shit out!


I appreciate the support from those who regularly watch my videos and give me encouraging words. It really does help so much!

Juuuuuuuuuuuuust great...

Well children, it looks like I won't be able to post videos for awhile...  I spent all of yesterday till this morning trying to fix my computer, but it looks like one of, if not both of, my hard drives have crapped out. I've tried every trick under the sun, but it looks like unless some friggin miracle happens I will be losing all of my data. So here's to hoping I get a job and can buy a new hard drive or two very soon. I will try to keep everyone updated on the progress of this freaking crap... I'm not looking forward to having to redo all the graphical stuff I had in my Boomin Banana folder... Damnit.

Anyway, I will be back to making videos as soon as possible! Thanks for the continued support!

Short update

Hello there! I just wanted to let anyone who reads this and watches my videos know that I am going to be taking a week or two off of making videos. I will be back to making mediocre videos, but I just feel burnt out on videos games at the moment. Life is infringing on my fun, so I will sort it out and be back soon enough.

Thanks for the support, and remember to take a chance in life. If something seems risky, but the reward outweighs the risk, then go for it. Don't let life slip by not knowing what could have been!

Welllllllllll then...

Hello my loyal few! Here's another update for you all!

I am not sure what I am gonna put out after this next video, which is another installment in my Adventures in Battlefield series. Since my external hard drive died a few months ago, I lost alot of footage to many games, and most of it was co-op stuff that can't be replaced now. Although I get no feedback on this blog, I am going to ask anyway, what should I do next? Is everyone content with me putting out stuff where I play all by my lonesome? If not, then that kinda sucks because I don't really have any co-op material currently, and will not have any in the future. Save for Resident Evil 5 footage, but I am fairly sure I'm gonna delete all of that crap. So all this update is good for is telling you all that I have no clue what I'm gonna do next. I could keep on putting out Battlefield 3 footage, and try to sneak some Rage videos in every now and then till I figure out my next move. Or maybe I could give another shot at playing Cry of Fear and recording that... We shall see.

Until further notice, expect mostly Battlefield 3 footage, because I have that coming out of my frickin ears at the moment. Sorry in advance if that is not your bag!

Russian Guyovich and Indecision

Seems like it's been awhile since I posted on here, but it has only like a week and a few days. Hm. Well anyway, usually I update you on the progress of my latest video, but there really is no progress to speak of. I have some Battlefield 3 footage, but the latest patch more or less ruined my fun with that game. So here's to hoping I can change my strategy and begin enjoying it again, because I love making those videos. On the scary game front, I had my buddy Anthoney help me decide on a game to play and he chose Metro 2033. Not as scary as I'd hoped, but I might be able to squeeze a video out of it for the bad Russian accents and a few jump scares. After that, who knows... I am bad at deciding on what game to record gameplay of because sometimes the ones I that I think are gonna be awesome for a video end up not being as enjoyable to watch as I'd hoped.

So, my loyal readers I hope that this reluctance to play Battlefield 3 and inability to decide on what game to play for you all does not stretch in to a longer than usual video drought from me. I will try to force myself to decide on another scary game after Metro 2033 and maybe even force myself to play a little Battlefield 3 for the lawls. Or the stroke I am no doubt bringing nearer each session. I hope you all are doing well and I will get on that Metro video as soon as I can! Perhaps Monday or Tuesday... Perhaps.

Recent goings on... Or lack thereof

Harro durr peoples. I figured I would give an update on my recent inactivity on here. I streamed the other night, but other than that I have not been working on any videos. Why you ask? Because my external hard drive shat itself and is now dead. That hard drive is not necessarily required to record or edit my videos, it just makes it much easier. I have limited hard drive space, and every 15-20 minute video of whatever it is I record takes up a gig of space, so that can pile up if I'm making a video with many clips in it spread out over lots of matches, like Battlefield 3. So, I am gonna try to focus on one game at a time until I am able to somehow fix my external hard drive, or get a new one. Also, for anyone in the market for a hard drive I will say that I had no problems until now with my Western Digital, BUT take in to account that their customer service is horrible. Absolutely zero help.

So, I will try to release something soon, maybe a Bioshock 2 multiplayer rage video. I will try to record some of that soon... If I could get away from playing Mass Effect 3 long enough. Ha!

Look for a post sometime soon for another Cry of Fear stream as well! Not many people watched, but there were more than before, so I will do it again! Thanks for watching and supporting!

Recent Tent Pitching

Hello my pretties. I bring you excitement from my neck of the woods!

First off, I am still in the process of working on both my Mass Effect 3 co-op video, and my newest Adventures in Battlefield 3 video, however the former is beginning to be less and less likely. Mass Effect 3's co-op is super great, and I implore you all to go download the demo and give it a try, but I'm not getting much footage as it pertains to funny or cool moments. The game mode, at it's core, is very monotonous. As is every horde mode type game mode. That is never a bad thing, it just makes for very rare moments of hilarity and excitement. So, stay tuned on that. I'm going to try to play once more with my pals to try and get the last bit of footage... Doesn't help when you play with tired and/or grumpy co-op partners though. *cough cough* Battlefield 3, however, is going great. All the footage for this video has been gone through and the golden geese, or my shitty versions or golden geese, have been selected and the major editing has begun. I actually took a break from it to write this.

As for the other excitement I wanted to share, I actually have been getting a great amount of traffic on my channel due to one video in particular. My Gears of War 3 glitch video. I submitted it to the Gamefails channel, run by Roosterteeth, and they put my clip up! Since I commented on the video, the original longer version on my channel began getting lots of views by my standards. I have also gained subscribers who are not personal friends. Hello to you if you're one of those people reading this now! I was motivated before, but now that I have more people who have enjoyed my videos I will try even harder. The comments have been super supportive, and have made my day everytime I get a new one. Seriously, thank you all! For someone who has had no video editing experience until last September, you have all made me feel confident in my abilities. Can't say thanks enough!

Anyway, look forward to more videos soon! I am excited for the future, even if all that happens with this is that I get make people laugh and be happy. That's what it's all about!

Moving and other things. Penis.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I bid you a warm welcome to my blog and am glad you're reading this post. For it will be both informative, and highly interesting in it's subject matter. Actually I lied, this is just a quick update from my last post. I am/still am in the process of moving, so my F.E.A.R. 3 video that I spoke of in the last post will still be coming, but I had hoped to have it done and posted by yesterday or so. Alas, it is not done! FEAR not, for we are in the last bit of moving and I will be able to devote longer times to fine tuning the final draft of the video. 

After that I have decided to make another Battlefield 3 video. Whether that is an Adventures in Battlefield video, or a new series featuring the co-op highlights of me and my buddy Anthoney, who knows. So look forward to F.E.A.R. 3 in the near future, and some sweet Battlefield 3 action in the not as near future.

Scaring myself yet again!

So I've been getting ready to release 3 videos here in the next 2 weeks or so, all dedicated to the F.E.A.R. series. I just finished the co-op for F.E.A.R. 3 last night, I am about halfway through the first one and have yet to start the second one. The videos for the first and third F.E.A.R. are in progress though, so it is all up to how fast I can cut the clips together!

After that, who knows! Could be Left 4 Dead, Dead Island, or maybe another Battlefield 3 video! Depends on what I can get that makes me laugh.

Upcoming stuff!

Hello there. I just wanted to give you all an update on what I'm currently, or soon to be, working on. I am finishing up Dead Space 2 as I type this, so the next video should be up within the next few days. Then after that I plan on making a little Battlefield 3 co-op/multiplayer highlight video showing awesome or funny things that have happened while enjoying that wonderful game. Then once I am able to finish up the campaign for F.E.A.R. 3 with my friend Ariel, that will be another co-op highlight video that I will put up. Those are the only things that are most likely closest to happening, but I have plenty of other footage to go through, including Left 4 Dead 1 & 2, Dead Island, and other various games I have recorded. So, to those who actually watch my videos, and read this blog, I thank you for doing so and hope you continue to enjoy what I do!
